FEEDBACK: FISHBURN YOUTH & COMMUNITY CENTRE

David Curry, who works for Durham County Council as a Physical Activity Officer, has sent the following message:

"I have been tasked with delivering some physical activity/sport sessions with the young people at Fishburn Youth & Community Centre on a Wednesday evening with both the Juniors (aged 8-13) for an hour and then the seniors (aged 13+) between November 2021 – March 2022. I also delivered some physical activity to the young people at the centre during the October Half Term School Holidays “Fun and Food” sessions.

"Can I just say what a pleasure it has been to work with the young people and the staff at the youth club on a Wednesday evening (I believe they have a youth club going there on a Monday and Friday too) and during the October half-term. They are currently getting over 50 young people every Wednesday attending the centre of which approximately 35 are taking part in the physical activity that I provide in the hall. The staff have been fully engaged and are looking to “take on” some of the physical activity games/sessions to play with the young people when I eventually do leave there to ensure sustainability.

"The organisers of the youth club have been a pleasure to work with and the young people have been a credit to themselves. I am more than happy for somebody to come along one Wednesday to observe the young people in the sportshall and their fantastic engagement. Well done Fishburn!"
