THE PARISH COUNCIL reviewed arrangements for the annual carols around the Christmas tree event due to uncertainty over coronavirus and decided that, working to the current regulations, a gathering on the Village Green with a crowd of singers is not possible and circumstances are unlikely to change for the better before Christmas. With a short time to go until Christmas, and a summer many of us wish to forget, the Council is still trying to bring some cheer to a year which has been difficult for so many and has provided a Christmas tree as usual. Unfortunately, an 18ft tree of good quality was problematic this year, so a 16ft tree was supplied instead, and a taller 22ft one will be ordered with new tree lights to bring some sparkle to the village for a brighter Christmas next year.
